When choosing a wall printer, ink is just as important as the machine itself. Different inks affect print quality, material compatibility, drying speed, and maintenance.
Water-based ink is usually low-odor and more suitable for simple indoor wall printing. It works better on absorbent surfaces, such as painted walls or putty walls. However, it dries slowly and is not ideal for smooth materials like glass, metal, tile, or acrylic.
UV ink is more common in commercial wall printing today. It cures quickly under UV light, so the image dries almost immediately after printing. It also works on more surfaces, especially when used with proper coating on smooth materials.
Another advantage of UV ink is white ink support. With white ink, a wall printer can print brighter colors on dark walls, glass, or other colored backgrounds.
Of course, UV ink also needs proper maintenance. The printhead should be cleaned regularly, and UV ink should be stored away from sunlight.
In short, water-based ink is suitable for simple indoor projects, while UV ink is better for wider applications, faster production, and more commercial printing needs.
