Before using a printer to print products, here are the two most common and easily overlooked issues:
First issue: Printing directly after startup without purging the ink.
When a UV printer's printhead has been idle for more than half an hour, a slight drying may occur on the nozzle surface. Therefore, purging the ink ensures proper nozzle functionality and reduces issues such as missing nozzles and ink streaking. Additionally, we strongly recommend purging the ink and wiping the printhead approximately every two hours during production to maintain ink supply and nozzle smoothness.
Second issue: Print height.
After setting up your material before printing, you must adjust the height between the printhead and the material. We generally recommend an optimal height of about 1.5 millimeters — roughly the thickness of a coin. This produces the best print results. However, it is especially important to note the possibility of material deformation. If the heat released by the ink during curing causes the material to deform — for example, to warp or curl — then you should appropriately increase the print height to avoid rubbing against the printhead. Of course, increasing the height will result in some loss of printing precision.
